RRSC Travel League (Spring 2021)
Cost: $85.00 for U8 up to U14
The Rensselaer Regional Soccer Club (RRSC) Travel Program plays in the North West Indiana Soccer League (NWISL), which is affiliated with the State of Indiana Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and the Soccer Association for Youth (SAY). RRSC follows NWISL guidelines and policies in order to play. The Travel Program's aim is to offer a fun season of Soccer in a competition type environment.
One of the biggest misconceptions about our Travel Program is that we commute long distances like Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, South Bend, etc. The truth is our away games visit other nearby communities like Lowell, Crown Point, DeMotte, Lakes of the Four Seasons, Dyer, Schererville, Highland, Hobart, and Valparaiso. We may, at times, travel to towns like Michigan City, Hammond, or Munster, depending if those towns have teams in our players' applicable division. Keep in mind that it is only an 8 game season so half of the games will be played at home.
All Players WELCOMED!!!
Our In-House League is a great opportunity for many kids in Jasper County (and beyond) to play together, while learning and appreciating the game of Soccer. Our Travel program is a great extension for those kids who want to play even more; expanding their skills amongst the youth of our neighboring towns.
Along with offering an expanded skill set, our Travel program affords our coaches and players the added excitement of running plays and implementing team strategies. As a result, coaches will try to further develop their players' skills. It is a competitive league, so scores and standings are kept.
Travel teams also have the possibility of staying together as a cohesive unit throughout multiple seasons, instead of having new teams each season. Player placement can be affected by the following factors:
a.) The age of a players is as follows:
U8 born between 8/1/2012 and 7/31/2014
U10 born between 8/1/2010 and 7/31/2012
U12 born between 8/1/2008 and 7/31/2010
U14 born between 8/1/2006 and 7/31/2008
***NOTE: 14 year old players (born before 8/1/2006) are allowed on the U14 team as long as they are in 8th grade.
b.) the start of the season is Sun, April 11th. End of the season will be a 2-day tournament for Sat, June 5 and Sun, June 6 (some early games could be played the evening of Fri, June 4, if necessary). Ideally, the championship game will be the only game scheduled for Sun, June 6, but will be reserved as a backup date if there is bad weather on Sat, June 5. In the beginning of the season, games will be played on Sundays. As the season progresses, games could be planned for Saturdays as well (on an as needed basis for make up games.)
c.) In the past, older division teams have requested players from younger divisions to join if their skill level can accommodate the age gap.
d.) And of course, the number of players registered affects the formation of teams.
***Please make sure when registering your child that you upload a headshot picture, meaning from the neck up. Please no full body pictures! Your child's picture is required for their Player I.D. Card, which they will need to be able to play. Player I.D. cards are required by NWISL and SAY.***
While COVID-19 is still present, RRSC is hopeful conditions will improve by the start of the season, April 10th/11th, 2021. The safety of our players and coaches is our highest concern, therefore, we will continue to take the proper precautions as the season nears.
